Photos from The Siege of Boonesborough 2006
Word comes to the fort that Indians under Chief Blackfish are present.
Boone had previously been captured by the Shawnee Indians and adopted by Blackfish. Here Boone goes out to meet with his adopted father.
Outside the fort walls Boone and his men meet again with the Shawnee under Blackfish.
Boone comes back from the meeting and discusses his feelings with the men of Fort Boonesborough. All feel it is a trick.
The men run for the fort and the Siege is on.
In this time the enemy began to undermine our fort, which was situated sixty yards from Kentucky River.Daniel Boone
